Nested in the heart of the Kasane Forest, adjacent to Botswana’s Chobe National Park, Senyati Safari Camp offers a fantastic bio-diverse safari experience consisting of its world-famous waterhole surrounded by 20 campsites, each with its own ablution block and 8 self-catering chalets. Guests refer to Senyati’s lookout deck as “The Best Bar in the World”. Senyati Safari Camp is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Northern Botswana, having the distinct advantage of being the only lodge around a waterhole with no fence between animals and humans, lit throughout the night, every night of the year.

Senyati’s owner, Louw Barnard, transformed a piece of land consisting of mere bush into this little paradise when he built Senyati between 2008 and 2010.

Senyati is located in the elephant corridor, and is 1 hours drive from Victoria Falls. Senyati’s waterhole hosts 100s of elephants, 100s of buffalo and of course, sable, roan antelope, warthogs, giraffe, eland, impala, zebra and more recently Senyati has become home to a group of lions. The dry winter months (mid April to mid November) are our peak season, however rainy season (November to April) transforms Senyati into a birdwatchers paradise.

Senyati also boasts with an underground elephant hide, (located right in front of the lookout deck) for animal photography from ground level. Anyone who has visited Senyati will tell stories of hundreds of elephants at a time visiting the waterhole in front of the bar each afternoon when the Senyati pumps fresh water in to give the desperate animals respite from the bone dry savannah. Even from the raised bar it is a remarkable sight so you can imagine what it looks like when you are right at the feet of these magnificent beasts looking upwards from the bunker as they jostle for position.

Free satellite Wi-Fi (5pm – 9pm) is available to all guests and washing can be done, charged per bag. Chobe sunset cruises, tiger fishing, safari drives, and Victoria Falls transfers, bungee jumping, microlite flights, helicopter rides and much more can be arranged for guests. Senyati has never had any cases of Malaria as we are not located on the Chobe River but around a man-made waterhole, we still recommend to use mosquito repellent during rainy season.
